Sweet’s Elderberry was originally founded and handcrafted by Stephanie Rickenbaker using locally-sourced ingredients after a loved one was diagnosed with a chronic illness and as part of their journey toward proactive wellness. She reduced her family’s exposure to toxins and learned about boosting health through nutrition. She quickly discovered that the syrup not only eliminated her family’s need for over-the-counter cold medicines but it also helped them to stay healthy year round. Today, that syrup is professionally handcrafted with organic elderberries, local raw honey and organic ginger, cinnamon and cloves. It is Sweet’s Elderberry Syrup. Named for her daughter – nicknamed Sweets – the organic elderberry syrup is made with delicious, natural ingredients all of which are high-quality and sustainably-sourced.

Sweet’s Elderberry hired Mindful & Good as a design partner to help with an overall brand refresh to elevate the brand and sustainable packaging from a word-of-mouth “mom and pop” brand to a higher level artisan brand for the natural health & wellness market but still with a bespoke apothecary feel. With better consumer-driven messaging about the benefits of elderberry syrup, taglines, branded elements, custom illustrations, new website and a refined product packaging design, Sweet’s was able to sell to a broader audience and larger select retailers.

With the help of the redesign and business guidance from Mindful & Good, Sweet’s has catapulted from a kitchen creation sold among friends to a household name. Sweet’s has scaled its business and product line, expanded it’s distribution into several wholesale accounts, specialty retail, health markets and fitness establishments across multiple states along the East Coast. Sweet’s has even ramped up direct to consumer online sales and doubled its annual profits in the first year of their rebrand and packaging design that Mindful & Good assisted with. Sweet’s is rapidly growing and not stopping any time soon with expanding its production, staff and more health and wellness products.
