GIBSON MILL MARKET

North Carolina’s Locally Sourced Food Hall.

Gibson Mill Market is a one-of-a-kind dining and shopping experience. Bringing together the rich legacy of American-made quality and ingenuity with a modern take on environmental consciousness and commitment to locally sourced goods.

Gibson Mill Market

Formerly known as the Gibson Manufacturing Company, Gibson Mill in Concord, NC has served as the fabric of the community since 1899 as a leading producer of American-made bedding, sheets and towels shipped all over the world. Today, this space, the historic Cannon Mills Company Plant No. 6, is one of the area’s largest adaptive reuse projects with a strong emphasis on environmental consciousness. It serves as a community-driven gathering spot with a locally sourced food hall, craft breweries, shops, office space and more. Though Gibson Mill’s purpose today has transformed since 1899, the heart of the mill is true to its roots – it serves as a strong stand for innovation, opportunity and tradition.

The final Gibson Mill Market brand logo reiterates the overall theme of sustainable placemaking by including an illustration of the historic weaving room building with the clerestory on it’s own that will house the new food hall and market. By combining the Gibson Mill logotype with the bold sans serif typeface for the word “Market”, which is based on type you’d find in old 19th century mill manuals, ties the two brands to work in sync with one another. In addition to the soft red portraying the brick shown throughout the property, it’s also an energizing color that encourages appetite, excitement, warmth and strength. The graphic elements, friendly statements and handrawn illustrations help to visually tell the story of what one can expect from visiting the Market.
